Roll top rather than a lid, because a lid adds three hundred grams to keep the rain off something a roll top already keeps the rain off. The back panel is closed-cell foam rather than a mesh trampoline, so it packs flat and does not collapse when the bag is half empty.

Materials
420D ripstop nylon with a polyurethane coating, bar-tacked at every load point, YKK hardware throughout. The base is a heavier 630D because that is the panel that wears through first on every pack anyone has ever owned.
Repair
We stock sliders, buckles, webbing and back panel foam for this pack indefinitely. Send it in with the serial number and we will quote before touching it. Most zip repairs come in under thirty dollars including return postage.
